JONATHAN B. KING

COUNSEL

ABOUT ME

Jonathan B. King is an experienced attorney handling a wide variety of matters ranging from real estate and commercial transactions to professional licensing and compliance.

Jonathan counsels clients in relation to the purchase, sale, and leasing of real estate for commercial, industrial, and residential uses. Beyond these usual categories, Jonathan is prepared to get to the finish line for any type of property transaction, which in the past have included a golf course and country club property, a privately held reservoir and water system, and online gaming data centers in Atlantic City.

He also handles a wide range of corporate and limited liability entity matters, including everything from asset purchases, entity restructuring, stock purchases, limited liability company and joint venture agreements, to solar agreements and architecture and construction contracts. Recent examples include stock buyout of a legacy auto dealership in Bergen County and the sale of an international, niche industrial metering developer and manufacturer.

Jonathan represents borrowers and lenders in loan transactions backed by all types of security, including real estate, inventory and receivables, equity, and intellectual property collateral. Prior lender representation has encompassed national, regional, and New Jersey-chartered banks, and a similar array of borrowers large and small.

Additionally, Jonathan handles trade and professional licensing matters, including cannabis and alcoholic beverage licensing, and licensing and compliance for architecture, engineering, surveying, plumbing, electrical and other building trades. Representation ranges from counseling smaller contractors in regulatory compliance and transactions to private equity acquisition of larger contracting entities. Recent work includes the equity sale of a cannabis dispensary in Jersey City.

Finally, Jonathan has general counsel and other experience that has involved negotiation of data subscription, data center and rack space agreements, and other large and small service agreements needed to keep businesses moving.

Jonathan graduated from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, with a B.A. in History and received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law, Newark, New Jersey.
